If you are feeling anxious about having family photos taken because you’re worried that your kids won’t sit long enough to have their photos taken, don’t worry any longer! I aim to make your photo session fun and engaging. In fact, it won’t feel like a photo session, but just a fun outing with your family where you will have your own personal and private photographer, and I will have the privilege of capturing your family memories.
I usually begin the family photo session by letting the kids take the lead by playing and exploring. This is beneficial for capturing genuine laughter and smiles in my photos. Letting kids be themselves during these family photos is one of the ways I get the best natural photos — everyone can just relax, have fun and just enjoy each other.
We can talk about things you love to do as a family prior to our session so we can photograph you in a comfortable setting. Maybe a hike in nature is what your family loves to do together, or maybe it’s a special trip to get ice cream or play at the park. Perhaps playing board games in the comfort of your home is where you make the best memories? Or, maybe it’s making a flour mess in the kitchen while baking cookies? Don’t worry, I’ll help you clean up! These photos should be a way to tell the story of your family and the deep bond and love you have for one another. Feel free to bring the family pet along too! I love animals and they are part of your family’s story too.
Whatever it is, I can’t wait to capture these treasured moments for you, and I know we’ll have such a great time doing it. As a Durham Region family photographer, I am available to travel throughout the Region to the location that suits your family best.
